On Sunday, we had our big installation party! It is not too late to leave us a blessing or donation by looking at this blog post. Bishop Wayne Miller preached the sermon, and this is the message I gave at the end of the service. More videos plus audio of Bishop's message will be published later this week. The texts of the day were: Exodus 18:13-22, Ephesians 4:11-16, and Matthew 28: 16-20.

On Sunday, we had our big installation party! It is not too late to leave us a blessing or donation by looking at this blog post. Bishop Wayne Miller preached the sermon above, and gave me permission to post it. I gave a short message at the end of the service you can listen to in audio here. The texts of the day were: Exodus 18:13-22, Ephesians 4:11-16, and Matthew 28: 16-20.
Do you wonder what it all means? How is Jesus and what he says in the Bible relevant for us today? What does being a disciple of Jesus look like in the whitest denomination in the US? How does Jesus call us to respond when justice is not done? Listen here for some ideas, and leave a comment on your own thoughts. We have to start talking about it or we are part of the problem. Even if it is uncomfortable. If this sermon impacts you, please do one of the actions below and then leave a comment about what you did and what you learned. Preached at Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church on 6-18-17 on Matthew 9: 35-10:23, includes the verdict from the #PhilandoCastile case. You can read about it here from closer to the murder by the wonderful Jess Davis. You can read about the verdict here. Compassion means seeing the pain of others. My normal goal is to post these by 5PM on Mondays, but due to exhaustion, overworking, some health issues, and the extra editing I couldn't get it here till today. However, I'm pretty sure it is still worth listening to even a few days late. Feel free to comment below with the one sentence or phrase that strikes you the most. Also, leave a comment about what blessings help you in your life. Thanks! -- Pr. Jess Preached on Genesis 1:1-2:4a and Matthew 28:16-18 on Trinity Sunday at Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church on 06/11/2017.
